460 engine block brackets

I got a 460 that came out of an RV with a van front clip and so basically it came out of an E-250 and it is going in my 77 F100. What I want to know is are the brackets that go between the rubber part of the mount assembly and engine block the same for F series trucks and E series vans? I guess you could call them the hat part of the assembly. They bolt to the block. That would be great if they are the same. That would be one less thing that I need to change.

"The support brackets (D3TZ-6030-A R/S & D3TZ-6031-A L/S) bolt to the engine"

The support brackets that came on the engine look the same when you place them beside each other.

1973/79 F100/350 460 engine mount brackets and rubber mounts are NOT the same as 1975/79 (or any year) Econoline 460's use.

Econoline mounts will not work on F100/350's regardless of the year, or engine size.

1973/79 F100/350 460

D3TZ-6028-A .. R/S Engine Mount Support Bracket (to crossmember) / D3TZ-6029-A .. L/S Engine Mount Support Bracket (to crossmember).

D3TZ-6030-A .. R/S Bracket (to block) / D3TZ-6031-A .. L/S Bracket (to block).

2) D3TZ-6038-A .. R/L Motor (rubber) Mount

The rubber mounts bolt to the engine mount support brackets (6028/6029), and nestle inside the brackets (6030/6031) that bolt to the block.

Econolines do not use the 6030/6031 brackets, the Econoline support brackets (D7UZ-6028-A & D7UZ-6029-A) are not the same as the ones used on F Series trucks.

The transmission rubber mount and bracket (aka crossmember) is F Series truck only.

Well in that case, does anybody have pics of the engine block brackets so that I can see what they look like in order to avoid getting the wrong ones if I buy them off ebay?

There are several ppl here that have the 1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog on a CD that can scan and post the illustrations, but neither is online very much.

As I see it, you have two choices.

1) Go to your local dealer...the illustration in the above Ford parts catalog (Section 60.1 / Page 6) of what all the F100/350 460 front/rear mounts look like, is very clear.

2) Buy your own copy of this exact same CD catalog, it's available from hipoparts.com / also sold on ebay / the price is around $25.00.

Since the catalog has illustrations of every single part, not only do you get all the part numbers, but the catalog can be used as an assembly/dis-assembly manual.

The Big Dummy would like to help you.....but I'm using the above parts catalog on Ford microfiche slides.

EDIT: I believe Summit sells the 460 mounts & brackets.

I went to the Summit site but all I could find are aftermarket swap mounts and brackets. The Dealer doesn't go back any further then 84 I believe which wouldn't work. I was looking on ebay but some people don't know what to call the part so I have to try different names but so far no go. Right now I have the frame mounts (perches) so what I have left to get is the plates.

Suggestion:

Call obsolete Ford parts dealer Green Sales in Cincinnati, Ohio and ask them to fax you a copy of that engine mount illustration from the parts catalog.

EDIT: I just typed the part numbers into their website > >

> > They have ALL the parts NOS (new old stock). The support brackets, the engine to block brackets, the rubber engine & trans mounts...the whole tamale.

Here's the info again: 1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog / Illustration Section 60.1 / Page 6.

greensalescompany.com / Help line: 513-731-3304 / Part number check = 800-543-4959.

That's a bit...uh...hell, that's waaay too much! Sounds like a price Ben Dover Motors would charge!

The member above has the parts...they're the same for all F100/350's 1973/79.

Yeah, I wonder if he would be ok with me just buying the top pieces, the block to motor mount brackets. If the rubber motor mounts are good I'd buy them also. I wouldn't need the frame mounts because I already got those from another member here by the name of "76CREW" or is it"76 CREW". He went thru the trouble of mailing them over to me to try before I buy them. He even sandblasted them and put on 4 coats of paint.

Rebel Warrior, how much would you take for the engine-block-to-motor-mount brackets?

My work zip is 34668 and my house is 33541. Let me know which is cheaper for you. I like to have it shipped to my work because I am there 5 days a week and if there is no one at the house I run into problems.
