My brother owns a 89 Toyota Pickup Ext Cab Manual everything and it strong truck i mean when i took my work truck 98 Ford Ranger XL 4wd off-roading 1 day well boss was away he keep right with me an i beat the f**king **** out of that ranger since it has selective a/c & heat (only works when it fells like it froze my *** off last winter) but anyways last month he picked up a 07 Toyota Tacoma w/ about 12,000miles on it for $18,000 everything ran and worked perfectly but now the passenger side window doesn't work, cab light won't shut off killing the battery, power steering screams around corners even when fluid is full & new, the rpms drop 200rpms when turn on a/c, an the cruse control shuts off by its self, lucky doesn't turn on by it's self, so i ask you WTF happen since 1989? did somebody get lazy or go cheap on parts, hell my boss's son 95 Tacoma runs perfect an it's got 340+K on it but still tow 15ft boat 400miles north to Canada every summer.
Toyota mgmt has said "no growth at the expense of quality". Perhaps no one listened....
They'll be back, maybe.....
I can understand cutting cost by not offering kickass a/ts, real chrome trim or leather steering wheel cover but it's if ford ever said "The F150's frame can take on the roughest of roads & trails with breaking a sweat" an then going cheap on frame strength an having it break or bend the first time you hit a pothole. I don't know, i'll stick with Nissan when comes to buying an import they seam to last regardless of how there treated.

Your one problem Toyota means all Toyotas are problems now?
I have no really problem with Toyota i just think if gonna spend $18,000 or $30,000 on truck should get your moneys worth or at least make it to 100+K before problems start to show up, my 02 Chevy Astro cargo van didn't have any really problems till 105K an they where normal need to be replaced due to ago parts.
kinda reminds me of my first 6 months with my new ranger....i had window grinding, helicopter sound coming from the vents,a grinding noise when i turn the wheel to far (and still happily grinds),the infamous ac clunk when you turn the ac on,the infamous seatbelt flop when you drive with the passenger window down, had to have the passenger seat fixed twice so it can tilt forward and backwards (and still doesnt work properly).............................so you see it just aint toyota
half of those problems cleared up on there own,the other half is still haunting me till i get rid of it

I know that every vehicle has it problems, just knid of f**ked up for what he payed.
thats a whole lotta bs to be dealing with on a recently purchased vehicle, and his warranty should be 6 years or a hundred k miles from original purchase date. Toyota certified
my first tacoma cost me nothing but payments and oil changes...it had original battery and brakes 178k miles on it when i traded it in 2000 sr5 3.4 4x4 5 speed
