heater on high

hey guys, my 93 f250's heater only works on high. last winter the blower motor went out, i replaced the motor and since then it's only worked on high. well i thought that the replacement motor being from Autozone, i thought it was wired diffrent thus working only on high. the motor went out again this week and i replaced it tonight, it still only works on high, is there a relay or something that went bad?? possibly the switch inside the cab?? anything else to check for?? the pig tail that comes off the harness only has 2 terminals, i thought that was kind of odd for a 4 speed fan but i am just guessing it;s like a household dimmer switch anyway thanks a lot

i'm tired of roasting with my heater only working on high. i look retarded going down the road with the window down when it's like 4 degrees outside

There should be a resistor assembly that drops the voltage for the lower speeds. It is probably burned open. I don't know where it is located on your year truck. It usually is mounted where air from the blower can help cool it.

That is the classic symptom of a bad blower resistor. When you find the resistor it will have four wires on it. There should be continuity between all four terminals. It is of such low resistance that it will appear shorted to the untrained person trying to check it.
