You can loosen the bolts on the fender skirts to move the hood vertically, and loosen the bolts on the hood to move it horizontally. Any kind of alignment like that is trial and error, especially with a hood because you have to keep opening and closing it...opening and closing it. For hood alignment, it's best if you have a buddy help you...you on one side and him on the other, each with your own sockets. The fender-skirt bolts are through-hole bolts so you need a wrench on the other side to hold the nut while you loosen.

By the way, if you take the springs out, the hood won't stay up on it's own.

Pretty much what I was going to say. I loosed the bolts slightly then closed the hood, aligned it, then opend the hood VERY CAREFULLY, then tightend the bolts back. But like fmc400 said have a buddy help you.

If you have to do that, it's not aligned. You have to loosen it, adjust it and tighten it until it lines up when you shut it without you having to push on it afterwards. This is the vertical alignment we're talking about. The springs are not your problem, they are doing their job.

Usually when a hood looks like this, it's caused by the hood flying up at speed. That stretches the hinges, so you'll need replacements.

First try lubing the hinge itself really well, they tend to tighten up with rust and won't alow the hood to go completely down to sit flush. I spent HOURS trying to solve this only yo figure out the hinge was to stiff. If I pushed down just a bit on the rear of the hood it would sit flush . If you've never adjusted one of theses hood before they can be one of the hardest things to get lined up right, espeacially after you move the mounting bolts for the hinge itself so I would try yo lube and work the hinge before loosening the hinge bolts.

If I were you, I would go to a wreacking yard, excuse me ,auto recycler, and get a used set of hinges, and try them. If that fixes your problem chances are you had a bad set, if not you can bet you need to adjust more. Sometimes the adjustment is opposite of what you would expect, up in the back to put the front down for instance.

I agree that you need new hinges. When my hood flew up, my hood sat the same way.

I have the same problem with mine back sits high and front low. Mine is just from swappin a new front clip out and puttin the old outer fenders back on. The other hood sat fine on it but it was primer and mostly bondo. When we put my hood on we found the same thing still have to fix it but like some of the guys already said try to lube and adjust em.

Mine sits like that too. I'm pretty sure it needs new hinges. Like everyone said it isn't sitting flat in the picture.
