I just sprayed mine with Chassis saver. Looks great. Layes down nice and flat. Just dont spray on too thick it will bubble up. I have a few spots that it happened on.
I agree with the Chassis Saver - I hand-brushed mine, came out pretty darn smooth. I'm going to spray/top-coat it, with Ful-Cryl - DuPont's lower end enamel paint. Hopefully today...
I've been using it on everything on the frame. Happy with it so far, and relatively inexpensive. I bought a gallon, have maybe 1/3 left, opened it 2 months ago, keep the reducer on the top and in the fridge, and it's a good as the first day I opened it. I'm happy with it.
I using a rust inhibitor from mar-hyde, its called one-step and I am using it to coat all the rust prone areas to prevent further or future rust. They call it one-step but they say to make two coats....think they shoulda called it "the mar-hyde two step" and had Allan Jackson or someone do their commercials.
There are alot of industrial coatings out there--but do not figure anyone should need to use them. I like polane and it is heavy-duty but the chassis-saver is what I use now. I then line x over that and just finished a frame and it looks great.
I am considering spraying a bright color over that too. Maybe green or purple or something that will stand out. I have 3 frames ready and it is alot of work. Building 3 f100s at a time is giving me nightmares.....LOL....Bill
SCR---I will let you take them off my hands if you blast and paint them for me-LOL I am actually going to make each frame a different color and material to see which one lasts and looks the best. Will let you know.......Thanks.............Bill
