97 3rd door won't open

97 3rd door won't open

is there a lock? the handles pull and make a clicking noise, but won't release the door. Just started last night - VERY frustrating@!!!

You are going to have to get the door panel off. There is a rod, clip, and spring in there and any one of them could be your trouble. Good luck!

Good luck taking off the door panel with the door closed.....I'm not familiar with the 97, but you might be able to take off/loosen the stricker plate on the cab to get the back door open.

Hey Steve, I searched for a thread on this as I knew that I has seen one recently. Didn't find anything. I was searching for "3rd door" instead of "third door". It didn't occur to me to search for third.
