Which Booster with Cab Swap

I have a 79 F-150 4x4 and have put a really nice 76 F-100 2wd SWB body (see gallery) on it. My 79' had power brakes but the 76 does not. I have both the 79 and 76 pedal assemblies, both 4 speeds. Can I just bolt on the 79 booster assembly and/or pedals or buy a 76 booster? I did a search and I found Ford made quite a few changes to the boosters through out years.

Thanks,

Dan

you should be able to put the pedals, booster, and master cylinder from the 79 on it, and everything should work fine. Just remember for the future if you need to replace anything what it came from.

And I do have the 79 Booster the original truck came with and I think a 75 Booster off a 2wd.

I did the same thing this summer to my 78 F150 4x4. I put a 73 F100 cab on the 78 and took the booster out of the old 78 cab and put it in the 73 cab. Everything seems to be fine.

Didi you use the 78 or 73 pedals? I'm wondering what combo to use, for example, will the 79 booster fit the 76 pedal assembly that didn't have power?

Might have to change pedals-have a close look, sounds like you will need to take one apart anyways.

Use the 79 booster/master cylinder with the 79 brake pedal. It's a bolt in. Easier to change instead of unbolting the whole pedal assembly.

I left the 73 pedals in the cab. The 73 was a 3 spd on the column and the 78 was an automatic w/power brakes. Since both trucks are manual, then just take the 79 booster and master cylinder over to the 76 cab and go have a beer.

Well, now that I finally got around to it, neither of the brake booster assemblies I have fit, they look the same, they have a short rod with an offset hole and will not even bolt up to the 76 pedals, the pedal has one hole in the pedal arm itself. Doing a search yielded a ton, but no direct answers. It looks like I have the longer booster mount, what booster will fit with this combo?
