anybody out there happen to have a spare computer for an obd1 5.0 302 truck?

If you have a manual tranny you have much greater choice of computer, but if you have an auto it's probably computer controlled and that means you need a specific 5.0 computer. Check your drivers door pillar for the tranny code, if it's E you have an E4OD.. the most common auto for the later trucks in this series.

You need a very specific computer, you can't just plug anything in there.

Why are you replacing it anyway?

well i had a code for egr vavle not opening so i replaced it and it changed nothing...it also misses at low rpms....every once in awile when i start it it will idle up higher then normal and the check engine light will flash... and sometimes it sputters when pulling out....the iac is new..the fuel pump and fuel lines are new...new cap rotor plugs and plug wires..and egr

yea..it only gives me one code and i think it was 332..it was the code for egr not opening

even after you changed the egr?

reset if you did not already do it.

Have you diagnosed the EGR vacuum system or did you just replace the valve?
