Had my 00 in for new ball joints, drag link, etc yesterday and as the shuttle was taking me to my job, I noticed an 08 PSD in a service bay with the cab about 8 feet in the AIR!! Also noticed they had the heads off the motor, (ugh). Looks like 'cab off' is real. 
The sm told me that any engine work on an 08 REQUIRES lifting the cab. Claims they can lift a cab in 20 mins!
Looks like working on newer trucks in the driveway is now a thing of the past!!

some techs have already modified tools to not have to lift the cab for smaller things, but cab lifting is great in my opinion if you are removing the heads, makes it way easier then pulling the motor
