What is causing this? Steering problem

I just had my steering box and dampener replaced and it worked fine for awhile (2 weeks). Now I have an intermittent problem. It doesn't seem the power steering is working when I am driving slow or on turns. It doesn't do it all the time. Steering is fine at speeds over 20mph. Has plenty of ps fluid. Is my ps pump going out? If so any tips on replacing it. I've noticed replacement ps pumps don't have a new pulley with it. Is it hard to remove and reinstall the pulley? Do you have to bleed the lines, if so what is the best way? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Is it a remanufactured steering box? What was the problem before you replaced it? The pulley is easy to remove. You just got to get the right puller for it. I dont think its too expensive to buy or you can borrow/rent one from a parts store.

Ford actually says to use Type F as it is a non foaming lubricant. Sounds like the pump isnt building the pressure it should at low rpms

A tip for getting air out after changing pump. Put your fluid in leave cap and dip stick out and turn key til engine kicks. Don't start the engine. Just bump it. Keep checking fluid level after a couple times. Add fluid as needed and bump engine couple more times. Not positive but I think I got this tip from this site. I've got my own steering problems. See my post and give me a hand too guys.

Hey there 78f-150........ before you go to changing the pump, check to see if the belt has just loosened up, that will sometimes make a seemingly intermittent ps working problem
