Mirrors
I have the painted back mirrors, white. I was wondering if it was possible to put chrome backs on them. The paint is peeling off the drivers side, cheap bodyshop work, and I like the look of the chrome backs. My mom has a 2001 XLT with chrome backs but they don't have the side signals like the EB mirrors do. I was just curious if anyone had ever done this or if it is possible.

The painted covers just snap on. Get a flat tool under the edge and pry gently, they should pop right off. Replace them with the chrome covers you talk about or take your own and have them plated. Good luck!

Heated/power mirrors, not signal ones.
My expedition only had power mirrors but I liked the idea of heated ones so I changed them. I tied the mirror heaters into the rear defroster circuit so that they all turn on together. I also wired the circuit into my remote starter's AUX so I can turn them on in the winter and have clear mirrors along with a clear rear window.
