I need the siganaw "extra duty" power stearing pump, new or used, for one of my 79 F350's All I realy need is the metal resevior but will take the whole unit also. The part number is 20-6244.
Id suggest junkyard. Ususally the parts store just sells the pumps and not the reservoir. I think a lot of 80's trucks and maybe even other manufactures (Chebby, Dodge) use the same reservoir but Im not 100% positive on that one.

That looks like a napa pn for the "saginaw swap" it will have a spacer to fit Ford pump brackets, and an extra long shaft so the pulley will clear(due to spacer). It also has the larger pump reservoir.
Sounds like you have the pump-but with a damaged tank? You might be able to get a used saginaw-even the normal sized ones. Tricky part is swapping the guts for the longer shaft, and will need new seals too.
Or, find a Ford van or lincoln-some of the big cars ran saginaw pumps that used Ford bracketry. The easiest ones look like the newer early 80's style pump bracket with an aluminum case that the pump bolts to.
Once that is figured out, run a cooler on the *Return* side only, and maybe a filter-most jobber places will have p.s. filters.
With a cooler, you may not need the larger reservoir anyway.
Hope this helps.
