I had my tranny rebuilt and pressure plate replaced. However I notice when I drive on a highway between 40 and 60 the truck like to jump into a passing gear type deal. It's like I pressed down on the gas pedal to pass or something. If I take it out of OD it still does it, shop (what would you expect they would say) "oh we don't notice it", but it shifts up and down like it’s get a load or climbing but it's on a level road. Could it be some sort of sensor or vacuum? really has me purplexed...I only drive ity on the weekend but it drives me nuts!
Take it back and make them fix it. what all did they do? what pressure plate are you talking about, i dont recall an auto tranny having a pressure plate.
sorry not the pressure plate (the tranny was fixed it awhile ago) and she's been down for a steering box and now not under warrenty...it's the plate between the tranny and the fly wheel...mine was almost in peices..can't remember what it's called
The E4OD has an overdrive by locking up the T/C. When you step down on the accelerator to pass, the T/C unlocks shifting down out of OVERDRIVE. If this is the problem then a lot of things can cause it as it is inter-connected with the cruise/brake system. If that is it,we can give you the good and bad news
the e4Od does in fact have both 4 gears AND a lockup converter. it sounds like you are dropping into second. you need to have it hooked up to a tranny friendly scan tool like the modis to see if the shift was commanded via a bad TPS. If not, they might point to a shift solenoid leaking and hence shorting out.
