Why is there a picture of a Peugot or is that a Renault at the opening of the web page?

Savings of a 120 dollars a month at current gas prices is 30 to 40 gallons of gas. Honestly, you wouldnt make enough energy to justify bleeding energy from the altenator.

It's unadulterated bulldink.

And having Jimmy Carter shilling for it just hurts their cause, IMAO.

Are y'all saying it's voodoo and a crock because you've tried it and it didn't work or cause you heard it was a crock? I was hoping to hear from someone who actually tried it.

this is not new tecnology, it's been out since the 70's I think, so obviously it hasn't proven to be profitable.

run on water

I haven't personally tried it but they did an episode on Mythbusters about this product and a few more. None of them worked and were pretty much a huge waste of money.

I'm sure the episode can be found in their archives if your really interested.

A basic knowledge of chemisty, physics and thermodynamics will tell you that it doesn't/can't work.

Any chance you can explain them basics? My degree is in physics and I probably have the basic thermodynamics and chemistry knowledge. I just don't know d*ck about breaking H from O and burning the H. The concept sounds great but I also know you don't get something from nothing and I'm guessing this is one of those situations where it costs more to do then its worth.

I didn't figure it worked either but I figured it was worth a shot asking. I've seen the websites with the testimonials that say how great it was but common sense tells me that they'd be selling like hotcakes if it was true. I was just hoping to hear from someone who tried it and said it was a crock.

Well, if you have a degree in physics, then I shouldn't have to explain the basics to you. From everything I've read, the system basically uses electricity from the alternator to perform electrolysis on some water, then injects the mix of H2 and O2 gas into the vehicle intake where it gets burned. Due to the nature of the reactions involved, burning a given amount of hydrogen and oxygen only releases as much energy as it took to produce that given amount of hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis. But that's in a perfect world. No system in a vehicle (or anywhere else on the planet, for that matter) is going to be 100% efficient. The end result is that adding the water system yields a net LOSS in mileage, due to it consuming more energy than it produces.

That's the basics. I've run across some other forums where the shills for these products start throwing out all sorts of pseudo-scientific terms and describing processes unknown to scientists that have to do with the hydrogen acting like a catalyst to help the gasoline burn more efficiently and so on. A bunch of gobbledygook, based only on last night's paper-licking.
