Holy mackeral andy why did I wait so long!! Took it out to test and hit 80 mph before I realized what happened, in 80 econo no less. I'm still shakin' whew', I can see how people can get in trouble with these.
Install went ok, even after removing the pcm twice, first time I pushed the grommet thru and had to remove. Also found evidence of a previous chip install. I suspected it before because the plastic housing was cut away to clear the wire. And the contacts where clean. Thank you DP-Tuner !!
After years and years of wanting a DP, got mine this Spring and have never had so much fun with this truck. My wife even commented on it last week when we went camping in the mountains. I passed a nice newer CTD Dodge 2500 with the same load as I had (3 four-wheelers on a 14' trailer) and left him in the dust. I saw that he got into it but could not catch up. I wasn't trying to show off, just he was too slow and I was constantly downshifting and hitting the brakes while I was behind him. Granted, he was probably stock and I'm mildly modded but my wife just looked at me and said, "that was real impressive..." I was in my 60 tow High Altitude tune.
I was going to purchase mine this week, but some repairs are stopping me I think I am just going to send in my PCM and have it flashed for 80e until I am ready to do the full deal
Stock, 60 tow, 80 econo, (we'll see ha-ha) 120 race.
Cool, have you tried the 120r? I know the first time I tried the 140 smoke, I shut it down pretty quick thinking I was going to break something. lol Now I know it can take it, so I roll some nice smoke every once in a while. I hope nothing breaks after I do the turbo and injectors.
Rick, you said that you have forged rods, correct??? You are set until Big Oil comes calling.
From what I understand I don't need big oil with the stage II single shots. They use less oil then the stock injectors. I guess I will find this out once I finish the install.
Yes I have forged rods, visual inspection. I used this to show me how to be sure. Took me 5 times hitting the starter to get them in the right place for conformation. I also used a magnifying mirror to get a closer look. Look like there was 2 1/2 to 3 threads on top of the nut. Here is the link. here

Looks like you and I have pretty much the same tunes!! I went with 60 Tow altitude, and N/S as default. That way, I can take my F-5 switch out, and have a theft deterrent!!
Luckily for me, diesel here has dropped ~ $0.15/gal in the last few days As I am leaving on a long trip Friday, it comes none too soon!!
Enjoy the fun, and be glad you have glass to catch the bugs. Having this big of a grin could be annoying, otherwise. Dang bugs anyway!!
