Got my WW installed

I put in my Wicked wheel i got from DFuser this weekend. Man, no more surge and a cool whistle. The whistle isnt much louder but it is a cooler tone. I found a crack in my intercooler pipe too...so i welded it up. Overall, happy with it

Glad to hear it, put mine in about 2 months ago and no surge for me too and sounds good when you get on it. Did you pull the turbo or install it on the truck?

Did you guys notice and better performance form a standing start? Did the turbo spool quicker less lag from the start or just no more surge.I have a new WW and a new turbomaster waste gate controller and have been waiting for the time to put them on and was hoping that it help to spool quicker as mine seem to lag pretty good from a standing start.

mine seems like it might take a little longer to spool up, but its so minimal that im definitely notworried about it...you barely notice it. It runs better at throttle openings where i got surge before, big difference there.

Very happy with the WW my self! No surge alot more whisle after I took that ugly stuff off the IC pipe. Now need Gauges, than DP!! As for Fordmike1, Did notice more pickup at lower RPM's and in the surge area, much better towing with it also. My uppipes were leaking also before I got the WW in, put the Bellowed uppipes in at the same time as the WW ( thanks to Kris ), that might have helped some with the get up and go!

this may be the stupidest question ever but oh well. I put the WW in about 2 weeks ago, I noticed a little bit more whistle once I did the foil delete but as far as surge still as bad as ever I think. My DUMB question on surge- I drive a 6 spd when I'm running high RPMs right before I shift with my DP-tune at 120, when I clutch to shift to say 4th and then to overdrive and even if I'm not gonna shift and just let off the gas my RPMs jump about 500 to 700 more, is that consider turbo surge? sorry if this is confusing

Don't know about that but i had a terrible swooshing sound after going into OD at WOT and if i stayed on the pedal the truck sounded like it was defueling, no power.

Nope. That is not surge. Do a search and somebody actually linked to an audio file. Surge only happens when accelerating, usually under a load, but can do it at any time. Mine is kind of a nasty deep chirping kind of noise. Goes away immediatly when you back out of the throttle. RPM jump is not it. It's all about the 'choppiness' of the intake air, so to speak.
