Zoodad Mod

How Many Out There Have The Zoodad Modification. Is It Worth It? I May Consider Even If I Can Get Another .25 Or .50 Mpg. I Already Have A List Of Mods (see Below), I'm Looking For More.

V10's get no benefit at all from the Zoodad mod.

No Measured Gains!

To my knowledge there is no measured benefit. However, the OEM air box intake sets right behind the piece of plastic that is removed for the zoodad mod. My little pee brain tells me if I remove that piece of plastic and give the OEM air box a staright shot of air, the airflow will be more efficient and cooler, therefore, creating more power.

Now I have a JOBE air box. It takes the place of the OEM airbox and the OEM battery tray. My driver battery is mounted in the box and the airbox is sealed from the engine compartment by the hood blanket. Therefore, I only get the cooler air coming in through the zoodad mod which should be cooler and more efficient.

I did the zoodad mod with the OEM filter box and noticed no difference. After I installed the JOBE I noticed no turbo lag but I attribute that to the combination of the JOBE and the T-back MBRP exhaust with no kitty.

Again, from my perspective it appears to be more airflow efficient and should provide a little more power with the cooler air but I have not seen any measureable results to confirm that.

I did it ... My intake temps dropped by 15-20F and cool down way faster after sitting and heat soaking the motor. MPG increase hard to say I did so many mods at the same time I don't know. Sound ... you hear the turbo a lot more .. hehe ... Would I do it again yea but I don't have a V10. Only thing I would change is making some sort of deflector. When it rains you get a lot of water shooting in there. I had to drill a hole in my air box so it wouldn't puddle up. Up to you, only takes a minute and it's a free mod.

In my gallery is my modified Zoodad mod. I measured intake temps with it open and with it closed and there was no difference when moving. Only difference was the Zoodad mod helped lower the intake temps faster after sitting for a while.
