Today i went to get something on the floor board of passenger side of my truck, and accidentaly hit my phone car charger that was plugged in and the whole thing popped out, the piece of plastic that the cig lighter is mounted in and to the right of it, there is a wire connector plugged into the piece of plastic, (i will try getting it back apart since i snapped the thing back in place and get some pictures), i was just curious what could be there or what is it wired for that i dont have.. Any help would be awesome and like i said i am going to try getting some pictures of it
Am I ever glad you posted that! I've been trying to figure out how that panel comes off. Can you just pry it off? Will yours go back on or did you break the tabs that hold it?
I want to put a B/U lamp switch there on my '08, just to the left of the lighter. I sure would like to know what those wires are for.
actually, how it came off.. i hit my car charger that was plugged into the cig light and it just popped out. None of the tabs broke and yes it went back in there. after it happened i snapped it back in place, and then later in the night, i used the car charger to get it to come back out so i could get some pictures of it. I guess i will have to ask the dealership when i go to get my truck aligned..
Looks like there's a bracket molded onto the plastic to the left of the lighter for a switch. Does anyone have a truck with 2 switches, on either side of the lighter?
Tylus, I saw your wiring diagram for the power point. Maybe you can help me. I want to find an unused circuit for B/U lamps. I'll start a separate thread.
I got that panel off and mines the same. Now here's what I'm thinking: I get the proper switch from the stealership, and find the power wire for the parking sensors (which I don't have) and hook up my back up lamps to it.
Who's got sensors in a 2008, and what color is the wire that gives them power?
