Right blinker not working

78 Ranger XLT S/C the right side blinker is not working correct, I replaced both front and rear bulbs with new 1157's. The passenger rear tail lamp is dimmer than the drivers side. The hazards work but the passenger is still dim. The front turn signals seem to be OK they have the same brightness. Also the dash indicator is on solid when the left turn signal is on. Ground wires seem to be intact and good. I replaced the battery cables thinking it was a bad ground cable it was kind of rotted where it attached to the engine block. The driver blinker works just fine as well as the cancel when the wheel is turned on both sides.
Any help would be appreciated.

Check the ground behind the taillight. It's either that or a bad bulb.

I'll throw in my 2 cents; if you do replace the socket I highly recommend that you don't use the butt splices that come on the new sockets; snip them off and install the sockets by stripping the wire, soldering them inline and shrink wrapping them. Crimp terminals are a bad idea for anything outside of the cab.

I agree, check to see if the ground is good to the socket, I've taken a pc. of wire & made a better ground & cured this problem many times.
