As a last ditch effort to save a dropped pitman arm on my '93, I bought a
1.5" TPF (7.13 deg) reamer from Snap-On.
Several articles that I read about the Chevy TRO conversion suggested that the taper is the same as Ford's but the Chevy needs a deeper taper.
**(I'm not going Chevy TRO, just refurbing the tolerances of the factory pieces)
After using the reamer, I found that it is not the correct taper for the 90's Ford factory pieces ('80-'97).
Did Ford use metric tapers on the tie rod and drag link?
What is the taper size?
-OR-
Do you just toss the worn piece out and buy new?
Anyone with experience in this dept. please offer some advise.
