lil boost gauge install help

I know I have read it somewhere....but cant find it.
I am finally installing my gauges after they have been sitting in the garage for sometime now.Instead of tapping into the MAP line.....I remember reading somewhere that you can drill/tap to install........where is that located??????

You can put it in the 'Y' pipe coming out of the turbo, that's where i put mine.

Thats what I thought I remembered.....just wanted to make sure.

Is it thick enough to tap....or do I need to weld a bung on?

I welded a bung on, the y pipe is a little thin. IIRC I used the brass 1/8 pipe adapter that came with the gage and brazed it.

I also used the Y-pipe and tapped it. It is kinda thin but there is enough metal to do it. I put it on the backside to hide the connection.

Great....I have absolutely no brazing ability.....would love to know how to do it though(seems kinda like a lost art.....like body work using lead).I already buttoned up the truck for the night....so I will tackle it in the morning.The only thing they sent me for the EGT probe was the clamp on crap thing

.....so they are sending me everything so I can tap into the manifold.....other than that they are in.
