I go to get my truck registered and DMV tells me that I need to get it checked for emissions. They said that the law has changed and now it is required for my truck?
So I go the my regular shop and they hook it to the emissions machine and it wont proceed with the check because my truck doesn't require it?
Not for an 02. My 05 6.0 SD doesn't even require it, so the people at DMV were mistaken, I'd go back and have them check again as I believe the new date is 07 and up.
Mmmm seems like the original title says it is a gasser at 7400 lbs.... I had to call the Dept of Enviomental Quality to get them to fix it.
I thought it was exempt...... but with them changing the laws all the time.... who really knows anymore.....
Your title shows its a gasser??? Sounds like DMV messed up or did you or the previous owner swap the diesel into the truck? If it's a factory thing, I'd have DMV re-check the vin and show that it is indeed a diesel. Then they can change the title to reflect that and you would then be exempt. I had a similar problem with a motorcycle that was mis-labled and it was a nightmare to get it registered until I had them fix their mistake.
Good deal! I was thinking that something didn't sound right. DMV make more mistakes than the get it right. Ths sad part like in my case, was that they tried to charge me to fix their mistake! It was a major hassle.
