Alternator bearing replacement? Help

Got a bearing noise coming from my alternator now. Output is Ok so can I just change bearings before it grinds to a halt? Don't know what kind it is but it is one of the newer ones that you can change the brush module on the back. Help. I know the new ones are Megabucks!

Alternator bearing replacement? Help

Well,on a 70's type you have to take off the pulley. You then separate the two halfs and the bearing is easy to get out. You can get a repair kit for about $14.
