paint questions

So i know it is not really a super duty question, but i get more answers in this forum. my truck is covered in little water spots where it looks like water dried up and left a spot. but if i wash the truck and i even tried waxing it the other day, they dont go away. the windows are covered in spots too. I might try a clay bar treatment and all three meguiars three step cleaner, polish, and wax. any suggestions? and is the tint that i had installed two weeks ago on the inside or outside of my windows, cuz i wouldnt want to claybar the tint. thanks.

Your tint is more than likely on the inside of your window.

We have well water with minerals in it and it creates these spots of you don't dry the car off right away when washing it. When I bought my last car it was covered in waterspots and I had to use Meguiars 1,3, and 5 with an orbital to buff them off, then polish back to a high gloss shine. On glass, detailing shops use some kind of acid to get it off, but I'm not sure what kind should be used, I only took it off the paint.

Really? I would never get steel wool near the glass. It may not make large scrates, but I would think it would create a frosted look on the surface.

Steel wool is fine on glass. Steel is softer than glass so no problems.
I think you will ned to claybar those water spots off the painted suffaces.

I use Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish. Recommended by a member here back in 04'. Works great.
