new truck

Well I finally went and bought a 6.0 I got it from the dealer I work at. Its a 2006 F350 fully loaded Lariat with the crome package. 20 inch wheels sun roof, power sliding rear window, back up sensors. All of it I think this truck has every option you could buy with one of these trucks. I traded in my 02 F250 with a perfectly good running 7.3 and auto tranny. I stole this truck for 26k The owner of my dealer sold it to me for that price. Has 50k on it. I love it so far and the engine looked clean with no oil leaks or problems that I could see. It runs good and I was getting 19.8 MGP on the highway better then my 7.3 would get anyday. My first thing to do is remove the CAT and the muffler for that 6.0 whistle that I love! I hope I made the right choice since like everyone have heard and read about all the problems these engines can give you. I dont plan on chipping it Its faster then my chipped 7.3 so thats good enough for me.

Congrats! I love my 06! Sounds like you did get a good deal! I paid 28K for my 250 xlt with 32K miles, granted that was before the truck market took such a huge dookie.

I dont work for a Ford dealer so I havent. I actually work at a mazda dealer. But I do want to get an Oaisis report. Looks the like the tranny has been out before as there are marks on the bolts. But nothing I could find on the front cross member area to make me think the engine has been out. It runs good and starts good Im not used to how a 6.0 should start cold but it always starts right up. I hope it sarts good in the winter. Anyone have an glow plug failures on the 6.0 I know my 7.3 glow plug relay went out and I had to replace that. Along with an engine oil pan gasket leak HPOP gasket leak and the turbo Y pipes leaking other then that it was a good truck and a good engine. I really like this new truck its very comfortable and rides great. I hope by just leaving my new 6.0 stock I wont have any problems with it. It definatley runs strong in my opion stock. I can easily compare it to my super chiped 7.3 which was on the tow/performace tune. I will miss that truck for sure but I couldnt really say no to this truck and the price. I have actully been eye balling this truck for months just waiting for the car whole saler guy to get rid of it which he finally did!

Welcome to the 6.0 world!
Nice upgrade.
after the newness is over, maybe later you'll consider an SCT they're awesome!
But for now, you don't know what your missin', these things will change shifting perimeters even if you want stock engine performance.

Happy Trails~

Ya I noticed a little more turbo lag down low compared to my 7.3 but not much. the only thing that has me even worried is just the reliability of the 6.0 even though it has a warranty I rather not be dropping a 100 dollars all the time for it. I love how quiet the 6.0 is it sounds like a diesel still but with out all the noise that comes with them at first I liked it but after a few years I got tired of my 7.3 being so loud really. Its one hell of a truck though so far I really do like this new truck a lot I just hope I can feel as good about it being reliable as the other truck
