I won't be moding this truck either way if it was to be a gasser or the 7.3 it will be for my better half to drive...you know keep her outta my truck and give her sumtin safe to drive...besides with the difference in the price of gas an diesel it will probaly cost the same as my 7.3 on the overhead it was showing 20.4 mpg my diesel doesn't do that i might get 18-19 mpg...IDK but i take all ur imput into consideration before really tie the knot with this one
Well good luck whatever you do. Was thinking of getting a EX 7.3 for the wife if i can find one but she says their to big. Still trying to sell the idea to her, going out later tonite and brouse the lots hopefully...
Only the King can issue such a punishment. We will have wait and see what he says!!!!
Sorry the King has been busy. I think if he keeps it one PSD and on V10( sorry about the swear word) He will be fine but if he goes 1 PSD 2 V10 there will be a royal curse upon him. just messing with ya

BPP, just do it. I bought the Excursion in my sig for my wife 4 years ago and she absolutely loves it. She's gonna drive it until it turns to dust. Plus, she loves the mods I've already done to it, and she can't wait for the mods (injectors, drop in turbo, ITP's Regulated Return, etc) I have planned for it!
Just a word of advice: Stick with the 4x4 version. It has the leaf spring suspension up front (as opposed to the coils on the 4x2) thereby allowing you to upgrade your springs via the V Code, B Code mod (swapping in a set of OEM F250 4x4 springs), which helps eliminate the steering wander on these rigs. Or at the very least, allows you to use all the common aftermarket lifts out there for the Excursions.
I know the whole v10 is a curse word but i think it's a good price and the wife won't be able to complain about how her hands smell like diesel after she fills up...Me i kinda like the smell
Keep in mind all Excursions regardless of powerplant have a 44 gal tank. After filling up the first time you may be more concerned with the smell of your shorts

The king has spoken.......What kind of royal curse????????
thats alot but i have 6 kids so i have no real choise but to get a ride to haul thier behinds around...lol I have to take 2 auto's toget them anywhere ...double the gas anyways
I love my 7.3 EX.
My wife recently wanted to get rid of it because it is too big. I talked her into keeping it but I had to remove the tow mirrors and put the smaller ones on it. I think she is happy now. It all started when she hit mirrors with another truck on a small road.

I need more info on this. Another fix I need to do to keep it is fix the 'wander'. i replaced the inner tie rod end but it is still there. Please educate me. What is a V code or a B code?
V code springs are stock F-250 4x4 front springs. Almost all of the 4x4 F-250's have these springs installed. B code springs are the same thing for the X. The V's are stiffer and hold the PSD up better. It would be less of an issue with the V-10 at over 300 lbs lighter.

I wouldn't wish those small paddle mirrors on my worst enemy!
Well, ok. Maybe that's not true, but I don't know anyone that would rather have the small paddle mirrors over the trailer mirrors!!

I'll PM you about this common malady that afflicts the Excursion, so as to keep from further hijacking the thread.
