Chances are your Ford guy is going to tell you those parts are OBSOLETE anyway.

That seems to be the favorite service related word when it comes to the Ford dealerships and getting parts lately.

Question: What "*****" are you talking about? Door lock *****? Dash switch *****?
Glove box pull ****? - you get the picture

Mebbe he wouldn't be so lazy, if you weren't being so hazy!
This Ford guy can tell you anything you wanna know...if I only knew what ***** you were a referin' to.

Profile sez 1964 F150 (prolly an F100 since F150's didn't show up till '75). Is this the truck you want the parts for?

If 1964 ain't correct, what the year is it? I'm not a mindreader.

The following pertains to 1961/66's.

What **** clips? No see um.

The window crank handle **** only came with the handle.

The headlight switch **** only came with the shaft.

The lighter **** only came with the element.

The wiper **** & the heater switch **** are the same part number. The ***** were held on with SET screws.

If you have vent cables, the **** only came with the cable.

The choke cable **** only came with the cable.

The glove box **** is threaded, held on with a machine screw.

If you have a heater temperature control cable, and a fresh air heater cable, the ***** were held on with SET screws.

2) 375504-S8 .. Heater & Temp Cable **** SET Screw = No. 8 -32 x 1/4"

2) 358812-S2 .. Wiper & Heater Blower Switch **** SET Screw = No. 8 -32 (length not listed)

Most autoparts stores sell set screws.

I have three ideas.

I work behind the counter...in a FoMoCo parts store.

Sometimes I'm called a genius...sometimes I'm called much more.

I'm supposed to know the numbers...of bolts, nuts and gears...

...For every Ford that was ever made for more than 70 years.

But life would be a pleasure...and I'd grin from ear to ear...

...If the customer would only tell me the make, model and year!

1964 f 100
1985 f 150
and my 1996 f 150

They all have a "spring steel" clip inside the **** for the wiper, headlights, vents, heater controls etc.
my 1985 only has it on the wiper and headlights.
my 96 only had it on the headlight ****.

They all use what appears to be the same clip as the ***** will fit on different yerars and "lock" on. my 64 has no set screws on any **** on the dash.

I've seen two kinds; one goes onto a shaft that is solid round with a flat on one side, is spring steel and fits over the round end of the ****, , has a tang that goes inside the inner bore to make that hole indexed (flat) on one side, and retain it.

The other, which I recall being on my mother's '64 Comet, goes onto a shaft that's split, the clip is inside the **** and goes into the split.

I would check the HELP! section at AutoZone or the bubble-pack rack at NAPA. Or go to a boneyard and get some.
