On a '74 Truck with a 300cid, mounted on the passenger-side apron behind the battery tray is a voltage regulator and another item which am unsure of its proper name.
It has a bunch of wires coming and going from it, including the battery cable and a wire that goes down to the starter. Any ideas?
It also doubles as a Power distribution device connecting at one spot then allowing battery power to be sent out to its various circuits.
Circuits that connect to that Solenoid post.
Battery cable for full power to turn starter,Charging system wire to replenish power, ignition switch, fuse box,Underhood light,

This design is the smartest thing Ford did/does over GM.
On GM's the solenoid is On the starter.
Awful place to get the starter to work on a Dark, wet night and you're dressed to the 9's.
Ford gets a 10 for doing this.
