Crap, you're in Ill..(I was born in Danville, raised in Kankakee) I need some concrete work done.. but I'm in central texas... too far a daily drive I suspect!..

Sam,
I think you are thinking about the perch on the rear end itself??
Mine is good.

I am referring to the part, (or under side perch) that the shock bolt is mounted to and it holds the bottom of the rear end housing tight to the spring.

Danville IL. Home of Robert Petry!! LOLOL Unless you have a billion yards of concrete to pour, yes, central Texas IS to far to drive! LOLOL

You might have to lengthen that the same amount you lengthed the lower shock bracket.

If you're putting the axle above the spring, I'm really confused! (but that's not your fault, it comes with the territory as I reside in that state)
Good Luck,

Yes, it is staying in the stock, below the spring location (sorry for the confusion), but the U bolts were cut when I bought the truck, so I need new ones any way.

Ok, words are getting in the way here..

perch is the 1/2 moon thing under the axle tube that converts the round tube area to a flat area that sits on the spring, there is an alignment hole in the flat side of the perch that centers it over the pin in the spring back in the correct place. the U bolts go over the axle thru the perch, beside the spring pack on each side and thru another bracket UNDER the spring to pinch the spring between the perch and this lower bracket.

On this lower bracket is a hole for the lower shock mount.

(all this assumes the axle is on TOP of the spring, not under)

and you wouldn't drive here for less than a BILLION yards?.. sheesh you're hard!

Sam

No problem-I'm typically confused!
You can get the bolts from one of the F-100 suppliers or have them custom made at a spring shop. The "universal fit" ones will not work with the large radius. The ones you need have two right angle bends, just wide enough to clear the spring width and mate with your shock bracket holes.

I think the hole in the shock bracket is just to let the mud and crud drain out so it doesn't rust between the bracket and the axle tube.
Good Luck!

To simplify this, here is what I am referring to:
It's the bracket/prech that the shock bolts to, and what holds on the bottom of the spring.

Ok............nothing under a million yards!!

Take a look at these catalog pages from Mid-Fifty.
http://www.midfifty.com/08catalog/Page%20130_131.pdf
The bolts are item number 2870 on page 131. The top bracket that I was referring to that may need to be lengthened is item #2809 on the same page.

Sam, can you find a spot for a million yards? I'll drive down to see it if you do!

Good Luck!
