1/8" over full mark

hey guys, i was adding alittle oil to my engine the other day and i let it sit for a bit and checked it again, and it nneded alittle more etc...

anyways i went and checked it one more time just to make sure the next day and it seems to be about a good 1/8" over the full mark, will this hurt antything, i am think probably not but thought i would ask??

guess i didnt let it sit long enough before i checked inbetween.

if the level gets too high you can create a foaming situation from the crank whipping the oil in the pan into froth. (its hard for the HPOP to push bubbles and fire injectors)
1/8 inch should not be too much a case for concern.

I would think your fine. i been there before. I had mine on the full mark. Then i parked over on the side of my house. I pulled the stick again and it was a 1/8" over. And thought "what the frig". I decided it was because the gound was unlevel and the truck was tipped.

All depends were you park and level are you are. Now i only check oil in one spot in my driveway were it is the most level. Somthing like this bugs the crap out of me and instead of worring about it i would drain it out by loosening the oil pan fill plug and leaking out a quart. Then i can sleep with no worries, but that is just me. Will it hurt anything? Propably not.

In the future, when you are adding oil, just stop a dodge hair short of full.

I know it seems simple, but a quart low at oil change won't hurt a thing...

i usually leave it about 3/4 on the full mark all the time, this time i guess the sun was in my eyes or something.

ive been driving around for a few days and everything seems fine, thanks for the help.
