Congrats on the mods Tom. The only thing I think you should do, is get a set of gauges. You will be surprised how fast the EGTs will climb. You need to know what the engine, trans, and boost are doing.
Thanks I'll have to start saving up my lunch money for the gauges. Not sure I can sweet talk the boss into the funds just yet. Truck is used for mostly daily driving and road trips pulling a 28' TT.
I haven't seen a thread that tells you how to retrain your foot to stay off the gas.

Work on that sweet talkin' since you're towing, you'll need those gauges to drive sensibly. With all that extra power from the tuner, you need to see where your limits are.
I love when I see someone say that they are "finished" modding their trucks. You are never finished modding your truck. The only way you are finished is if, God forbid, you sell it.

if you tow a lot..it could cost you more then the gauges will..keep an eye on the clasifieds...there was a set on PSN..but i think there sold..i can PM you the link if you like....
Send me the link. OK I should have said I'm done with this phase of my mods.
So I have to ask if you have the gauges, what are the limits your looking for? When I'm loaded up with gear and the TT I'm probably towing around 6,800 - 7,000lbs.
you dont have PM's..your a new guy...welcome to FTE..
sorry just re read the post..he just has the pod's left....ill keep an eye out for ya and let ya know when i find some..at the very least get the EGT gauge for exhaust temps..too high of a temo will start melting pistins..a trans gauge is aslo very good to have.the stock one reads ot after it melts down..these 2 gauges are need when pulling loads..high temps will be reached....
Keep your EGT's under 1250 degrees and all is good. Tranny temps below 225 degrees (or about 60-100 degrees below ambient temps is a good operating temp zone.) My tranny barely tickles 175 with the larger cooler and synth. oil. Boost without a fooler will surge at 22 lbs or so with the tuner so there's your limit. I try to keep a level foot, the RPM's at about 2000 on straight flat roads and you should be golden. Now, if you start driving the hills or stop and go traffic, then gauges will keep you out of trouble since you can see temps rise. I think that $300 in gauges will protect my expensive engine and/or tranny if used correctly.

Tom, if you pull your TT on a hill and have the hammer down, you are more than likely going over 1250*. I was surprised after I installed my gauges, how fast the EGTs would climb. I can hit 1200* by just giving WOT for a little while, without towing anything. Short burst are not going to hurt you too bad.
