Hey guys this might be a dumb question but I have a 1994 Ford f-250 with a 351 in it and a c6 tranny. Should I be able to spin the tires if I put my foot in it or should the truck just start to move. I guess my question is how fast should I accelerate and if Iam not accelerating that quick what could cause this is the tranny slipping or is the torque converter going?
You should be able to fog the tires through first and half way into second, and buzz them a few feet when you hit 3rd.
Seriously: If you have tall gears and big tires, you should expect little if any tire spin. We had a '74(3?) F100, supposedly a 390 2v, 2wd, C6, 3.25s. It would not spin a stock tire or a nylon dyna thump replacement tire in the stock 225-75x15 stock size.
Your F250 has more road-hugging weight and perhaps a bit less torque off idle, and bigger tires.
