I have a 85 with a 302 EFI the problem is that it will run for a little while then it shut down as if you turned off the key. I have replaced everything on the engine. Does anyone if I should start looking at the ECU.

Does it restart after shutting down and shuts down again? Check the IAC.
No it has to cool down. I thought it was the distrubtor so I changed it. Then the coil but I aint getting no spark out of the coil the codes are all good that why I was thinking it be the ECU.
The voltage on the coil + side is 11.6 and I got 11.6 on the - side. The code reader I have gives a code 54air charge temp. and 31 egr valve position. Those are the KOEO. The memory code are 22 manifold air pressure 54. The KOER codes are 24 Air charge temp. and 31 and 25 knock sensor not detected.

How is the fuel? How long has it been in there and does it stay parked for extended time
say 2-3 weeks and not get run very long? Run 2 bottles of Heet and 2 of iso heet and
dump them in the tank 3/4 1/2 1/4 run it until 1/8 tank or so and then refill with fresh
fuel and then take it out on the highway for a good looong run at highway speeds to get
any moisture out of the engine, tranny and rear end. These are trucks and they need
to be run and run hard or else they start throwing odd codes at you if you have a trailer
or a some sand bags hook it up or throw em in the bed so it has something to pull!!
I dont want to wait for the truck too cool down on some road. The gas in the tank has been sitting 1 week with a start twice a week. Im looking at the ECU to see if that might be the problem, the only problem with that is the cost of the part and not being able to get that right now. Some of my friends told me it may be a ground problem.

Does the negative side of the coil voltage blink or go up and down when you crank the truck? If it does, that means the module is turning the coil on and off, and you should be getting spark.
Did you ever figure out what was happening to your truck. I am having the same issue. I have replaced the rotor and distributer cap. I also replaced the coil. My next thing was going to be to replace the distributer. Thought I would check here first and see if anyone else having this issue.
