Inside light for Enclosed trailer

I am building an Enclosed trailer.
It is small, big enough for 3 dirt bikes. I want to put a light in side so I can see.

What kind of light should I use?

Can I just run a + wire from the plug back and put a light switch right inside the door, and then put a light up on the ceiling?

Would a headlight for a tractor work?

Thanks in advance
lars

Sounds like it would work fine
Make sure you put a fuse in the + wire (as close as possible to the power end), run that wire to one side of the switch, another wire from the other side of the switch to the light, and run the ground wire from the light to the nearest spot that is a good ground point.
The tractor light should light up the trailer very nicely.

Depending on how many pins your trailer connector has and how they're wired, you could add a small 12V (camcorder/EXIT light) battery in the trailer that would be charged by the tow vehicle. Use a diode or relay to isolate it, and put whatever kind of lights you want. There's a diagram of 3 types of trailer connectors in this photo album:

I just wired it up, works great. I ran a wire from the plug to a light switch, then to two tractor head lights. They are really bright.
Thanks for all your help
Lars

Update on trailer lights:

I had them working great, then I went and stuck a quad in there and they just shut off. What do you think it is? I may have bumped a connection loss, but I looked them over good. I falt the wire right after they went out and it was really hot. What do you think? Tomarrow I might have some time to monky around with it.
Any help would be appreciated,
Lars
