Door Lock Cylinders On Expy
now i got this issue.....
Since i bought truck, the lock cylinders never match the only key i was given for ignition.......the only way i have been able to open my doors would be through alarm system which i dont want to depend on for this.....
I've called, oreilly-autozone-NAPA-FORD-locksmiths (to repin or rekey lock-they all said wont do it) none of them seem to have the 2 lock cylinders for the front doors with keys that would fit on my vehicle.
Guy at NAPA tells me this is a common issue happening to 97 expy's lock cylinders, some dont always fit on the handle............
ANyhow the replacement cylinders i've bought from them and returned have been way different than one i took out of the door in first place that fits fine......
to shorten the story................
I am unable to find lock cylinders with keys that would fit on my vehicle.....
any ideas? can you point me to another company that sells such that would help me?????
Going crazzy........something so simple and noone has it.........
Thanks for all your help a bunch i know am always taking bandwith space away lol with all my questions but u guys are my book when i get stuck lol!
just letting yall know in case u encountered same issue i did....
Thanks again for your help..hope you all have a good weekend....

I went ahead and just checked and guess what! one of the cylinder locks was for the key! heck only bad thing is i ordered new one's already....but.....i learned something new....
besides that i was able to re-pin the other cylinders i bought to the ignition key!!!!!!! by sanding down pins etc to match key.....
i'll teach you guys i thought it was hard but with logic....was very easy......
thought this might help everyone....
if u want to repin your lock..... u have to take cylinder apart by taking front cap off and back leg off as well , it has small retainer......
I was able to do all of this with a sanding machine / and screw driver...
u have to sand the pins untill is even while having the key you're going to use inside the cylinder....this will allow the cylinder to turn when key is on and when key is off pins will fall out again blocking turning of cylinder.......
Hope this helps yall.....another thing learned! woohoo goodnight all.....
