From a chemical standpoint, there's no way you can change water to gas and back to water and gain energy from the reaction. At best you could break even, with the inherit inefficiencies it's a net loss of energy.
From an economic standpoint, car campanies spend millions trying to meet federal mpg mandates. If a simple water to gas mechanism could actually increase mileage by 5 mpg - a 25-40% increase on a truck - why don't they put one on every vehicle they sell? They're in business to sell cars. Wouldn't they sell more high-profit suv's if they got 25% better mileage?
You'd be better off with an old school water injection system.
well the one i've been looking at isnt really a 100% hydrogen combustion, just a fogger type system. I know hydrogen is very explosive hence it can be used to weld and cut with. gasoline has a lower rate of combuston than hydrogen do the smack's booster creates a small amount to feed into the cylinders via carburetor. better, more efficient combustion= more power. more power= you can drive that 460 stroker around and not suffer from gas prices (probably get 15 mpg with that big 600+ stroker on hydro boost but plenty of power)
