Looking for Ford brackets

I am looking for the bumper brackets for a 80-86 F150/ Bronco. A local dealer faxed me an exploded view w/ #'s but they can't get them. The #'s are 17787, 17788, 17795 & 17796. I figured that someone on this site would be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks.

With the Sport rear bumper or a step bumper?

I have an extra set of either. PM me.

Just for the record: Bronco brackets are NOT the same. They are shorter and bring the bumper in closer to the tail gate. Trust me, I know this from experience trying to make a Bronco Sport bumper fit my F250.

I was able to find an 80 truck with the Sport bumper and used them to make it work.

Sport bumper. How much closer do the bronco brackets bring bumper to tailgate? Does it interfere with the tailgate opening?

It will not work. It brings it in way too close and you can't even bolt it up.

Trust me, I've tried.

I know of another F100 in the junk yard that has them on it and I tried to get them off with sockets but no good.

They'll have to be burned off and they want more money to do it. I was going to grab those as spares too. They are still there and if you can't find another set, I can get them for you but they won't be cheap.

I have some pics of the Sport bumper on my truck in my gallery in case you want to see what it looks like.

Looks way better than the step bumper IMO, but a lot less functional.

I can't find my spare set, but I just remembered something.

You can still get these brackets from LMC. They are the same as 78/79 trucks so you just have to look in that section on their website or catalog.

I believe they were like $80-100 last time I looked.

Sorry Uncle Stosh, the 1980/86 Bronco rear bumper brackets are 1980/86 Bronco only..regardless of the type of bumper..

1980/86 Bronco Rear Bumper brackets ~ Not used on the step bumper.

The following Ford part numbers are taken directly from the 1980/89 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog / Text / Rear Bumper Arm / Section 176 / Page 12.

E0TZ17787A .. Right Inner / Hunt Ford in La Plata MD has one / greensalescompany.com has one.

E0TZ17788A .. Left Inner / ZERO = No Ford dealer or obsolete part seller has any.

E0TZ17795A .. Right Outer / greensalescompany.com has two.

E0TZ17796A .. Left Outer / ZERO = No Ford dealer or obsolete seller has any.

What's listed is all I could find.

I looked at every US Ford dealers parts inventory, only one dealer has That's in-correct. one.

I searched all the obsolete parts sellers that have websites, only Green Sales has any: 800-543-4959.

Thank you for your time & effort on this subject. I might be able to fab up something that will get a sport bumper to work on my truck.

I think there was some confusion here.

As I (and NumberDummy) have said, Bronco brackets are different and won't work. I still believe that 78/79 truck brackets are the same and should enable you to mount a sport bumper on an 80/86 truck.

That being said, I can still get you a full set of 80/86 Sport bumper brackets from a junk yard that I go to. There is an 80 pickup with them still on it. I tried to get them off for a spare set, and I couldn't get the bolts loose. The junk yard will burn them off, but they want an additional $40 just to burn them and I wasn't going to pay that just to have a spare set.

If you want them, I can probably get them for you for about $60 plus shipping. If not, then no big deal.

The rear "sport" (Ford never called it that) bumper brackets for 1980/86 Bronco's are not the same part numbers as the 1973/79 F100/150 or the 1980/86 F100/150, as one can see.

1980/86 Bronco: E0TZ-17787-A / E0TZ17788-A / E0TZ17795-A / E0TZ-17796-A.

1980/86 F100/150: E0TZ-17787-B / E0TZ-17788-B / E0TZ-17795-B / E0TZ-17796-B.

1973/79 F100/350: D3TZ-17787-C / D3TZ-17788-C / D3TZ-17795-B / D3TZ-17796-B.

For the second time, I am NOT saying the Bronco brackets or part numbers are the same. They will NOT work.

Early F Series trucks may not be the same part number either, but they appear to be the same as the 80/86 "contour" bumpers brackets.

Your best bet is always to use the correct brackets, but others MAY also work as long as they are for a truck and not a Bronco.

LMC and others do offer the earlier F Series "contour" bumper brackets.

1980/86 F100/150 rear bumper brackets.

My apologies to you, Uncle Stosh.

I see the problem, the OP never made it clear he wants these brackets for an F150, not a Bronco.

The biggest problem on FTE is...when some ppl ask questions, they either don't list, or are not clear on, what they are working on.

1980/86 F100/150 rear "sport" bumper brackets.

I found all 4 NOS > >

E0TZ17787B .. Right Inner Bracket / Owen Ford in Jarret VA has one / Dennis Carpenter & Green Sales have one each.

E0TZ17788B .. Left Inner Bracket / Dennis Carpenter has one.

E0TZ17795B .. Right Outer Bracket / Green Sales has two.

E0TZ17796B .. Left Outer Bracket / Fitzpatrick & Lambert Inc (Ford dealer) in Dushore PA has one.

Dennis Carpenter NOS parts phone number: 800-476-9653

greensalescompany.com phone number: 800-543-4959

You'll have to get the Ford dealers phone numbers from directory assistance.
