My truck, 1999 F-150. The backlight that allows me to view the digital odometer reading and my trip mile come on sporadically, sometimes once a week for a couple minutes. The display for my sterio also doe not come on but maybe once a year. I assume this is an electrical problem. Fuzes are all functioning.
Is this something worth the $ to fix if I have a job that requires me to keep my mileage?? How much is it to fix??

 

If you want to tear it out yourself and clean up the connections, possibly zero expense if that's the problem. If you want to take it to the dealer, they will probably install a whole new cluster. I would hate to think how much that would cost.
