OK, guys, ITs all good info, as I am looking to run 5x4.5 on my 87 f15. I understand the 82 f100 had that bolt pattern. I check the bearings, and found they were the same, which is good. What else would i need to change to run these?
My reasoning is simple..I want to run wheels from weld that arent available in the 5.50 bolt pattern, and i want to do a "slight" narrow on the rearend. I have the 8.8 which is very similar to the exploeres, and the explorers had an option for rear disk brakes.
I plan to leave my 5.0 stock, the tranny is a 3spd auto(c4 or c6, not sure which).I want to change to an AOD, do a slight narrow, lower it some with a DJM kit, turn my cruise control on, and haul my Harley Electraglide, or maybe my yellow lab. Thats all. I dont haul anything else in this truck.
I am even considering and airbag rear susp so I can drop it to the ground for loading my bike, and then hit a button to set it back at ride height.
I need to change the bolt pattern soon as I need to do a brake job, and its easy to convince the wife during this time..lol
As in what else would i need to run, i mean, calipers, disk pads, etc..As I see it, if i can run the rotors, I might have to change those items as an end result.
I know what you mean,I have a 94 F150 its been lowered and I have Weld super single wheels which look like a Draglite, but of course you cant get a Draglite in 5.5 bolt circle. The truck looks really good but, What I really want are 20" American Racing Torque Thrust II's. You can get them but you have to custom order and that just jacks up the price!! Wish there was an alternative.
