Removing ECM

Im trying to find the easy way to remove my ECM from my 95 F250 Supercab
7.3ltr A/T 4X4 PSD ...... I tried loosing the 2 screws from the firewall under the hood and disconnecting the harness but it looks like is gotta come out from under the dash and behind the emergency brake assembly ...... Ive seen a few post telling others to simply remove the brake and take it out ... well looking under my dash that seems anything but simple ..... That metal frame that the brakes connected to looks like a nightmare to remove, a nightmare of screws and wires holding and wrapped around the frame ...... Im hoping that someone knows a simple way to remove that I may be missing .... Otherwise can someone help me with a ECM part number that would work in my truck that matches my truck info ....... My Vin # is 1FTHX26F8SKB39242 .... If i can avoid pullin it to find the part number on it I can simply purchase a new one and connect it under the hood to the harness for the time being til Im up to all of that work removing it.

The PCM is removed from under the hood ...Loosening the fender liner is helpfull...You can read the number on it with a mirror if need be ...should be 4 digit...it won't come out from the inside ....

My 97 is TDE1 IIRC ....

Action is spot on. Remove the fender well liner screws in the 12 oclock position and the next two to the right of it. I think a total of 3. Now that you have the harness off the PCM, take a wooden broom handle and slide it between the fender and fender well in about the 1:30 position. Now pry the fenderwell down, you'll feel it kind of "buckle" and at that point you can hold it with one hand, and pull the PCM with the other. And to my knowledge that "IS" the easiest way to get it out. Good luck.
