Heater filled the truck with smoke this AM. Am now trying to replace the heater blower motor. What a pain in the butt!!!! Truck is a 78 with factory air that has since been disabled, i.e., compressor removed, etc. Also found burned up fan control switch. Gonna try and find one of those now. Any ideas on the easiest way to get into the motor. I have already removed the air conditioning core from the inside part, half the ductwork. Have the dash completely torn apart at this point. Is there an easy way to convert this back to a basic set-up (without a/c components)? Help!!!! Be back later.

I assume it is all installed by now. I had to put a new heater core in my 79 (used to have AC) with the delux heater/ blower and it was much harder than a regular heater box. We took the whole unit out from under the dash after undoing the inside and had to get out the air conditioning core as well as the heater core. This set up is one of the more annoying heater core setups I have seen on old trucks, but not as hard as many newer cars.
