I have a chance to buy two jet skis for a good price. But the only way I could take them to the lake is to pull them behind my 26ft bumper pull travel trailer. Is towing the TT and a double jet ski trailer a good idea? Have any of you tried this? Any sugestions on safty would be great.

I vote for INSANE. Ever tried to back in a trailer hooked to another trailer hooked to your truck? It's impossible to back them in straight. They immediately jackknife, and turning to correct one just puts the other one out of control. You'll never be able to back that trailer down a ramp without first offloading your travel trailer. If that's the case, and you can do that first, then the other reason why I say it's INSANE is whether your state allows you to two 2 trailers in tandem. Here in Calif, that's a no-no.
Just my dos centavos.

I say go for it. Most people would not try to back trailers. They would get the site and unhook the jet skis, then park the TT and then hook the truck up to the jet skis. I am getting my truck and 5th wheel trailer in December and plan on towint the jet skis behind the trailer.
You should seriously consider adding a camera so you can see what is going on back there.
I actually found this "piggy-back" towing to be quite common in Canada when i was up there last year.....however it's illegal here in NY. Just a thought, but you may want to check your local and state V&T laws to see if it's even legal before you try it. If it is, then have at it....only suggestion would like priusron said....pull into your site, ditch the PWC's, park the trailer, re-attach the PWC's, and head for the lake.
I see it all of the time here in ND, even with large boats behind the camper. It's mostly done with 5th wheels. 5th wheels seem to be a little more stable compared to bumper type campers.
As far as backing the whole works up, yeah that's impossible. You need to unhook the camper and unhook the trailer off of the camper (jet skis, boat, atv, etc) and hook that one to the tow vehicle.
Personally I'd be a little leary using a travel trailer. I've heard a few horor stories and two weeks ago I saw a Tahoe that "was" pulling a tt and a boat behind it. The whole works was balled up in the median of the interstate. The boat was sitting on the ground, and the camper pretty much exploded and looked more like a flat bed . Not sure what had transpired but I'm sure using a short wheel based rig like a Tahoe didn't help.
Thanks for the replys. It is legal in montana. I definatly wouldn't back it up more than a couple of feet. I do know of one bad accident where the rear trailer went out of control and flipped all three but the rear trailer was a lot heavier that the first one. I may go on the rv forums and see if anyone does this a lot. I can't imagine a couple of jet skis being able to flip a super duty crew cab and a loaded 26ft. TT. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
We checked with the State & the Feds on pulling 2 trailers at the same time. According to both, to be legal, the trailer copled to the vehicle must be a 5th wheel or a gooseneck. Two bumper pulled trailers together will earn you a big ticket.
