Weight class stickers apply I think if it is registered for half ton or more. At least when I got my truck last year it had to get a new weight class sticker. And as to emissions your 73 to 79 should get an exempt sticker at least mine does.
F250army45d is your truck registered so that you can only drive it 5,000 per year? That's how the emissions exempt works on my 81 CJ I have now. Do you have any emissions stuff on your truck, ie. cats, smog pump anything?
Lostinfords I figured the PM thing out with the help of the admin. I have to get past 25 posts first then I can PM.

Really? My 3/4 ton has no weight class sticker, and I've never been told I need it. Are they county-specific now too?
Big Dam, I have true dual exhaust on my truck with no smog stuff, and regular (non classic) registration.
Jolly Green, thanks that helps. I would rather do a regular registration if I can because I plan on using this truck to tow with and I might get close to the 5K a year limit. And Yes differnt counties have different ruels I ran into that when I was trying to find smog stuff for the 81 CJ. I know Adams did have different laws then York.
No smog garbage under my truck headers pipe glass packs. I think like I said if you register the truck as half ton to get the cheaper taxes you don't get a weight sticker but mine has one and it isn't by county it is a state thing. As to the emitions exempt not bassed off milage it is based on the year. But some newer ones your correct if you drive it less than 5000 a year or you tag it classic.

Oh yes, I forgot. The PO had my 250 registered as a half ton, and when we got it switched it just carried over that way. But I know it is a 250. Shhh...don't tell anyone!
yeah just don't get a ***** cop who wants to weigh you with a load on more then the registered weight class. I kept mine at 3/4 ton just for this fact. Not that I plan on hauling but never know.
