2000,7.3, vacuum pump part#?

I was trying to find the part no. for the electric vacuum pump located on the pass side inner fender well, right in front of the blower motor! I need one ,but can't find it at the auto parts store or the parts online sites, my ac is blowing out the defroster and I think this may be the problem! Forum to the rescue!!! thanks!

When you turn the key to the on position, do you hear the pump running? The pump should run for a little while making vacuum, and you should hear it if it is good. You say this may be the problem. Could be a vacuum leak.

I don't know the part #. Just trying to be sure it is the pump.

Welcome to FTE

FTE has Ford dealer parts department sponsors that give discounts off the actual MSRP to members.

Need assistance?

Look on this very page among the sponsors for the link for: FTEpartsguy.com.

Searched all part stores, could not find. Dealership wanted 150.00 or better.
Searched junk yards, lots knew part i was looking for, already sold them.
Got lucky and found one in a junk yard for 30.00. Keep on looking.
You could get part # from dealership. This part always goes bad and ford knows it, the dealership price should be lots lower!!

Did you contact FTEpartsguy.com (Ed Olson @ Parr Ford in Bremerton WA)?

I have the same parts catalogs the FTE sponsors have, so I could give you the part number.

Hell, I type Ford part numbers here on FTE every day, but contacting Ed will be quicker than this slow typing Dummy.

Ah heck...here it is: 6C3Z2A451A .. Vacuum Pump Assy. (replaced YC3Z2B925AA) / MSRP: $150.68 / FTEpartsguy.com price: $104.49

Post #8...I just typed the part number..if it's the vacuum pump you need.

If you aren't sure, just go to FTEpartsguy's link, and email him. The link is right here on this page.

Thanks for the heads up on fte partsguy nummer dummy, i'll use him in the future, i think i would have paid the 100 instead of 150 for my vacuum pump, was tired of looking for one and my air conditioning was doing the same thing, blowing out the defrost. I'ts really hot down here in Ms.

WHOA....that vacuum pump part number I listed has nothing to do with A/C.

You better contact FTEpartsguy before buying anything.

If it’s a 4X4 open the hood and look on the left side of the engine compartment. You will see a large black tank or reservoir that is part of the vacuum. Just next to this and on the engine wall is a small control valve that has a red and black vacuum line connecting to it with a rubber fitting. Pull the lines off and break a golf tee off at the top. Put some oil around the tee head and push it into the red line. Start the engine and let the pump pull all the air out of the system. Your vents will start working again if you have a leak in the 4X4 system...if it’s a 4X4.
