I added an A/C system to my 1982 F150 4.9l. It was not easy. But it works great now. You can buy a kit that will fit. If you want it to look like it cam from the factory you need the following.
Go to a wrecking yard find a truck like yours with A/C. You will need the complete dash assembly including the ducting take everything to the fire wall. In the eng compartment get the outside ducting and Blower motor, Look on the right fender you will find the VAC chamber for the Vac Switching. DO NOT take the evaporator, dryer, compressor,or condencer. get all this stuff from acsource.com ask for Warren. If you decide to do it this way I have parts lists and drawings. A kit would be faster. Thanks Art
