What would cause the oil pressure to climb? I installed an engine in a 1998 e-350 and everything seems ok but the oil pressure gauge after running for about 5 minutes starts to rise. It takes a while but it will end up at the max reading on the gauge.
no. I could see if the gauge spiked high or something but you could set your watch to it. It is so consistent. If you let it sit for a while it goes down and then when you start it back up everthing is good for about 5 minutes and then it starts its climb.
Remember I just changed the engine and haven't even droven it yet. Could that be something that needs to bleed out?
I learned almost all of the abrevations but that is a new one. What does EOP stand for and where is it on a 1998 e-350. Engine Oil Pressure?

RE:Remove the EOP connector to see if the gauge goes to zero. If not something is sending the PCM voltages indicating EOP. Something may be crossed up.

Yes, engine oil pressure. The low pressure EOP is on top of the High Pressure Oil Pump (HPOP) reservoir.
