Yeah as for finding a good used one, that would be tough.

When did Ford offer "stepsides".
Box sides for 400.00 is a deal.
Can you post a link or a contact. I am sure there are many people out there that could use new box parts. Plus I plan to get a 66 Flareside one day.

the stepside box from 47-82 are almost identicle. i think from 72 and up the mounting is a little different but the fenders are the same. I believe its morris' friend who had them made here in saskatoon, but i cant remember where. Teh box is one of the reasons people like to restore/rod 47-56 trucks

They are even hard to make out of a chunk of sheet, there's nothing to them the hard part is the tailgete and fenders.

The same years
Chevrolet offered Flaresides!
1948/79: Even though they look similar, the
F100 Flareside beds are not the same.
The fenders are specific to the following years: 1948/52 / 1953/56 / 1957/79.
The bed sides are
specific for the following years: 1948/52 / 1953/56 / 1957/60 / 1961/66 / 1967/72 / 1973/79.
The F100 tailgates are also year specific to the following years: 1948/52 / 1953/56 / 1957/72 / 1973/79.
The tailgates used on 1957/72 F100's are the same as some F250's used (B7C-8340700-A-49 13/16" long).
But other 1957/72 F250's and F350's used a different tailgate (B7D-8340700-A-54 13/16" long). The beds used on these F250/350's are also different.
1980: Ford eliminated the outward flare, so the beds don't resemble the earlier beds at all.
I agree with Sherm...the rear wheels should be centered in the wheel opening. They ain't.
Mebbe it's because it's been jacked up, or mebbe that's a bed off a 1972 or earlier model.
25 Grand? Whew! I wonder if the buyer gets a free gas card?

Next step, who can provide some dimensions for the 70s stepside box? If they can be made that easily......I'm thinking it may be a definite option.....
