i have a 2000 f350 with a leveling kit the shocks are superlifts and they are leaking.so i want to change them is it necessary to get taller shocks for the front or can i just use stock ones?(i bought the truck with this leveling kit already installed) any good recommandations on shocks?thanks
its a superlifts leveling kit.maybe 1"-2" i don't think it sits too tall.it looks like it has two bigger shackles and longer sway bar ends.the leafs are stock.again i bought the truck like this the shocks look beat up and are leaking.is it safe to assume that the rears will stock because nothing was done back there?(stock blocks and no overload spring.)i don't know if it matters but i am running 35's-thanks again -ed-
dcspecial thanks for your replies.i know i have stock blocks in the rear,i just want to make sure i'm understanding you.are you saying i can't run stock size shocks.like ford oem?i'm hoping not to spend a lot of money.i do no off roading.all streat driven and towing.i just assumed because of the front lift that stock height shocks would'nt work.(that they would'nt extend far enough)thanks again.
Up to 2" you can still use the stock spec'd shocks. Most manufactures don't make a shock between stock height and 4-6" lift. Shocks usually have about 2" in either direction of play, so you can use stock shocks for 2" lift or 2" lowering. More than 2", you need to use the next size taller shock.
