Does anyone know the Ford Part Number for the Voltage controller. This is a Ford Factory Item the Dealer here just looks at me and says a WHAT ? This is used to idle up the diesel engines to maintain 14 Volts for Power Inverter use at least thats what we use them for. It is a 6" X 6" Black Box with a digital Read Out showing the Voltage if anyone can help so I can get one ordered I would Love it Thanks
I ask because my old Motorcraft 2G stock alt put out pretty measly power at idle on my gasoline 302. But with the 3G modification, that thing puts out like 80A even at idle RPMs. That is, it'll be able to maintain 13V-14V and won't drop unless you load it over 80A. Way different than the 2G crap. Well, you've got a diesel and I have no experience there but a good alt can put out a lot of power at low RPMs way better than the older designs.
This is going into a data Van it has 2 computers 4 monitors a printer and lights. The Alt runs the power inverter the power inverter needs 13 to 14 volts without the Voltage drop when running the A/C and everything else. I found out the new Diesels do not have this package but I found a Diesel Mech that knows how to set it up using 3 or 4 relays. We pull a lot of power from our inverters. Man with all this the coffee maker kills us Lol. Thanks for the reply
