I have an '03 build 6.0 that's had a problem, off and on, for maybe a year.
Three times now, and for no apparent reason, I've experienced power loss such that when I put my foot into it... nothing; and also, at highway speeds, it lost so much power that it couldn't even take a hill without loosing speed (not towing anything). And then, magically, it goes back to working normally again.
Can anyone advise me on what the problem might be or the fix for this?
I was thinking that too. I wonder if just disconnecting the EGR valve will fix the problem?
Chris
Pull it out, clean it - soak it to carburetor cleaner for hours - could help, or go wild, and bypass it, means you can forget about it completely in the future. Few more hours of labor, but worth it.
